Some validation issues give you the option to update the cube. You can click the Update semantic model item when you view the validation error details. After the semantic model updates, validate it again, and it should be valid.

If you remove a file from the relationship design and replace it with another using the same name and field names, you will need to update the semantic model for validation.

Tips

  • The semantic model will be invalid if any measure doesn’t have a valid relationship with any of the dimensions or if any dimension doesn’t have a valid relationship with any of the measures.If a semantic model is invalid, the error message displays the dimension or measure name and indicates where you need to verify the arrow directions in the transformation relationship and possibly change the arrow direction to make the relation valid.

You can also validate calculated members and expressions used in the semantic models.
