Many object types allow you to set properties for the object. Some object types show you default, inherited, and modified values. 

Depending on the object type, you can also view the other interrelated or dependent properties.

Adding properties 

To add properties, perform the following steps.

  1. Right-click the object name from the list of objects and choose Properties
    The options vary, but you'll see a list of property names and value pairs in many cases.
  2. Expand the group names to see the properties in that group.
  3. Click Search to type property names and quickly find values.
  4. Click Add Property to enter each new property name and value pair.
  5. Click the minus icon next to your added properties to remove them.
  6. Click the i icon to view a description of the property, or click Show Description.
  7. Use the Action menu   next to the i icon to specify whether to use the default or modified properties.
  8. Click Save when finished.

  • Default properties are the initial recommended value set for the object by Kyvos.
  • Inherited properties may come from the system, connection, or from other dependent entities.
  • Modified properties have a value other than the default or inherited value. This is the default mode for all user-defined properties.

Dependencies

If a property has dependent properties, then a link indicating the number of dependencies found is displayed to the right of that property name and you can view the dependent properties by clicking that link. Click the arrow near the top of the page to return to the previous view.
