To see the semantic model properties, open a semantic model and click the Refine tab at the top of the window. The properties are displayed in the Advanced Properties tab. Any errors are easily visible, and you can click the group to see the details.

Dependencies

If a property has dependent properties, then a link indicating the number of dependencies found is displayed to the right of that property name, and you can view the dependent properties by clicking that link. Click the arrow near the top of the column to return to the previous view.

  1. From the Toolbox, click Semantic Models.
  2. Search for and open a semantic model.
  3. Click the Refine tab.
  4. Click Advanced Properties.
  5. Expand the group names to see the properties in that group.
  6. Click Search to type property names and quickly find values.
  7. Click the i icon or click Show Description to see the description. Click Hide Description or the i icon again to hide it when done.
  8. If a property has dependent properties, click the link to view them. 
  9. If a property has an Actions menu (...) in the Value column, click the Actions menu (...) to view the details.

You must have permission to set semantic model properties. If you don't have permission, you won't be able to edit a property.

In the following cases, you will see a notification:

  • If you try to add a property that depends on another property that is not set
  • If you edit a property value that will affect another property

To set the semantic model properties, perform the following steps. 

  1. From the Toolbox, click Semantic Models.
  2. Search for and open a semantic model.
  3. Click the Refine tab.
  4. Expand the group names to see the properties in that group. 
    You can also click a group name in the left column to expand that group.
  5. Click Search to type property names and quickly find values.
  6. Click a property Value to edit it. Then do one of the following depending on the type of value:
    1. Type a new value.
    2. Select from a list such as true or false.
    3. Click the Actions menu (...) next to the value and make a selection from the dialog box.
  7. Click the i icon or click Show Description to see the description. Click Hide Description to hide it when done.
  8. Use the Actions menu  next to the i symbol to specify whether to use the default, inherited, or modified properties.
  9. Click Save.

    If you have Ranger deployed in your AWS environment, then you MUST apply the following properties:
    kyvos.build.execution.engine=SPARK
    kyvos.indexing.execution.engine=SPARK

  1. Click Add Property, then enter a new property name and value pair and click Add.
  2. Click the minus icon next to the properties you have added to delete them. 
  3. Click the i icon or click Show Description to see the description. Click Hide Description to hide it when done.
  4. Use the Actions menu  next to the i symbol to specify whether to use the default, inherited, or modified properties.
  5. Click Save.

    If you have Ranger deployed in your AWS environment, then you MUST add the following property:
    kyvos.connection.fileSystemApi=HADOOP

    The new property is added to the Miscellaneous group. To remove a property you added, click the minus icon to the far right of its name.
