When a filter is applied, records not used in the report are not shown in the crosstab. For example, if you filter customers for sales higher than $1000, the customer IDs with lower values are no longer shown in the table with empty values.

To apply a filter in a crosstab, perform the following steps:
From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then select a workbook and worksheet.
If needed, select the Design workspace.
Select the Crosstab view type from the View Type list.
Use the filter options in the right pane to add a filter. See Filtering data in worksheets.
