The Java options section enables you to define Additional Java Options for Web Portal, Query Engine, and BI Server after cluster deployment.
You can configure the maximum heap memory for the Web Portal, Query Engine, and BI Server on this page. You can choose to set the heap memory automatically or manually using the available options. If you select the Auto option, the heap memory will be automatically set. Alternatively, if you choose the Manual option, you will need to specify the required heap memory for the BI Server and Query Engine.
Points to know
From Kyvos 2024.11 onwards, you can change the JRE versions (JRE 17 or JRE 8) for No-Spark deployments (Shared Query Engine or Kubernetes cluster).
You specify memory allocations for Kyvos Analytical Store for querying. Additionally, you can set the heap memory for compute servers running on Shared Query Engines or Kubernetes (K8S).
The Java configurations for Compute Server is displayed only when the Kyvos Native (Dedicated Node) is selected as compute cluster type in the Ecosystem tab for on premises deployments.
License information of maximum heap memory will not be displayed for Kyvos Manage Application and Kyvos Single Node Standard on Azure Marketplace.
You can see the last performed Java configuration operation details, including progress status and start time, by clicking the i icon located next to the Revert button. To view more comprehensive details, simply click the View Details link, which will take you to the Operations page where you can view the operation information in detail.
The Auto option will be selected by default for configuring the maximum heap memory in a new automated deployment. However, if you use the wizard-based deployment or upgrade the environment, the Manual option will be selected by default for configuring the maximum heap memory.
When multiple resources are installed on a single node, you must not use the Auto option to calculate the heap and off-heap memory based on the instance type.

Changing JRE Version
For no-Spark-based clusters, you can now switch between JRE versions 8 and 17 (JRE 8 or JRE 17).
...
However, for Spark-based deployments, switching the JRE is not applicable, and only JRE version 8 is used.
...
To change the JRE version, perform the following steps.
Click Actions menu (…) appears right of the dialog box and click Change JRE Version. The Change Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version dialog is displayed.
Select the required JRE version from the list.
Enter your Kyvos Manager password.
Click Change. The Operations page is displayed where you can view the progress status of JRE version. Kyvos Core services (BI Server, Query Engine, and Web Portal) will automatically restart during the JRE version change version.
