Query objects are created to gather data from different data sources, merge them into one dataset, and perform data transformations or calculations. They serve as the business meta-layer for end-user reporting. The query objects hide the physical database details, SQL complexities, table names, etc., from the end user. This allows users to create insightful reports, charts, and dashboards without needing to know knowing the origin or retrieval process of the data from the database.
