You can drop a partition out of a cube that includes a partitioning strategy. Specify the criteria that you want to use. Rules that use time criteria, for example, week or month, will drop the entire partition (depending on partition size).

To drop a partition from a semantic model, perform the following steps.  

  1. Create or select an existing semantic model.

  2. Click the Process tab and click the Actions menu (...). 

  3. Click Add Other Jobs.

  4. Choose Drop Partition.

  5. Define one or more rule conditions.

  6. Select which fact to use.

  7. Click Add filter and specify the field, criteria, and value. 

  8. Click Add filter to add more criteria.

  9. Preview the results to verify your settings.

  10. Click Drop Partition to start the build that will drop the partition.

  11. Click OK to confirm the deletion. 

You can view the History to see what jobs have previously occurred. Image Removed
