The Kyvos Manager allows you to use a wizard that will help to deploy a cluster using any of the following options.

  1. Cluster deployment using resources that are part of the Kyvos Stack that was created by downloading a template from Kyvos Manager. See details on how to create and download the template.

Important

Kyvos uses Lambda to start the BI Server instances. The CloudFormation template will create three Lambda functions, for:

  1. Scheduled start of the BI Server

  2. Forced start of the BI Server

  3. Display cluster status on the Kyvos Web UI.

  1. Cluster deployment using resources created by your Custom Stack (not the one created by downloading the template from Kyvos Manager). In this case, the CloudFormation template is created by the user. The Lambda functions will not be created unless specified in your stack. To allow scheduling on the BI server, you can create and configure the Lamda functions after installation.

  2. Cluster deployment using account resources (selecting node mapping option) that are created externally without any stack. Here also, the Lambda functions will not be created. To allow scheduling on the BI server, you can create and configure the Lamda functions after installation.

You MUST ensure that you have all the prerequisites.

Regardless of which option you select, if you do not have permission to fetch resources from the cloud environment, then you will need to manually enter the information related to resources (like IP of instances, name of the bucket). Resources are created by any of the means like AWS console, CLI, REST, or SDK.

Wizard-based deployment

To start the wizard-based deployment, perform the following steps.

  1. Log onto your AWS Console, and create an EC2 instance for the Kyvos Manager.

  2. On this EC2 instance, copy or download the Kyvos installation setup shared by Kyvos Support.

  3. Install Kyvos Manager.

  4. Start the Kyvos Manager and access it using your credentials.

  5. Alternatively, access the installation URL, such as:
    http://clusterIP:port/kyvosmanager/kyvos-installer/aws
If you do not have the URL and/or credentials, contact Kyvos Support.

You will see the following three options:

  1. I have all the resources: Select this option to use the resources that are part of the Stack that was created by downloading a template from Kyvos Manager. This option installs Kyvos services on configured resources based on your AWS account information. See details.

  2. I want to create resources: Select this option to create resources to install Kyvos services like BI Server and Query Engine  on the AWS environment. See details.

Important

Before you start deployment, ensure that all the prerequisites are available.

Download the AWS Installation Files folder and keep all the requisite files handy during installation and deployment.
