Kyvos Azure Marketplace Kyvos GCP Marketplace Kyvos Single Node Installation (Kyvos SNI)
Note
The steps for adding a disk for the Query Engine node are the same for all cloud environments (Marketplace and Enterprise).
To replicate the semantic model on the newly added disk, restart the Kyvos services from Kyvos Manager or click the Re-Balance Aggregates option from the Kyvos Activity Monitor page.
When upgrading or deploying a cluster without enabling the scaling permission role, you must add the required permissions for Query Engine disk scaling (increase, or decrease) to the role attached to the machine before performing the scaling.
For clusters deployed with earlier releases that do not include the Query Engine disk scaling feature, you need to take a few additional steps. First, ensure that you grant the necessary permissions to the role assigned to the machine. Next, you must create a deployment user (for example, "kyvos") and add this user to the sudoers file to enable sudo access. This step is essential to enable Query Engine disk scaling in these environments.
If the Kyvos cluster is deployed with Query Engine disk scaling support in Kyvos Enterprise, and scaling-based permissions are applied where applicable, those permissions will be included in the created role. Otherwise, the disk scaling permissions will not be part of the created role.
Increasing disks for Query Engine
To add a disk for Query Engine Storage, perform the following steps.
On the navigation pane, click Kyvos and Ecosystem > Overview.
On the Overview page, you will see the number of nodes, BI Server Storage (in GB), the size of the disk attached to each Query Engine node, and the number of service instances configured for the Kyvos cluster.
Click the three dots, and then click Add > Query Engine Node Disk.
The Add Disk on Query Engine Nodes dialog box is displayed.
Enter the number of disk you want to add to the Query Engine node, and then enter your Kyvos Manager password. The disk is added to the Query Engine node and you will be redirected to the Operations page where you can view the status.
Decreasing disks for Query Engine
To remove the disk from the Query Engine node, click the three dots and then click Delete > Query Engine Node Disk.
The Delete Disk from Query Engine Nodes dialog is displayed.
Note
Deletion of the only existing single disk on the Query Engine node is not supported. Thus, the Delete button will be disabled.
Enter the number of disks you want to remove, and then enter your Kyvos Manager password.
Click Delete. The disk will be deleted.
