Kyvos can help you accelerate analytics on Alteryx using its Smart OLAPTM technology. Kyvos supports the Alteryx connection through the Spark ODBC connection.

Connecting Kyvos semantic models to Alteryx

To connect the Kyvos semantic model on Alteryx, perform the following steps.

Create an ODBC data source for the Kyvos, as explained in the Spark Simba ODBC connector section.

  1. Use the Input Data tool to bring data into your workflow by connecting to a file or database.

  2. Alteryx displays the Data connections window. Configure your data connection using one of the following: Recent, Saved, Files, Data Sources, or Gallery.

  3. For Kyvos use Data Sources, o pen Alteryx Designer, and drag the Input Data tool onto the canvas.

  4. Click the Connect to a File or Database drop-down. The Data connections dialogue is displayed. Select the Generic ODBC option for Kyvos data connection and then select ODBC.

  5. On the ODBC Connection dialog box, select the user DSN created for Kyvos. Provide Kyvos Username and Password, and click OK.

  6. On successful authentication, you will see the Choose Table or Specify Query dialog box.

  7. Navigate to the SQL Editor tab and provide Kyvos-supported SQL query that you want to run.

  8. Click the Test Query button to verify if the provided query is correct.

  9. Once the connection is successful, click OK.

  10. Now you can start using Alteryx ELT processing using its features (e.g. Filter, Formula, Sample, Select, Sort, Join, Union, Summarize) and export Kyvos semantic model processed data in any file format like CSV, JSON, and Excel, and so on.
