Instances configuration to use password-based authentication for Kyvos deployment

Applies to: Kyvos Enterprise  Kyvos Cloud (SaaS on AWS) Kyvos AWS Marketplace

Kyvos Azure Marketplace   Kyvos GCP Marketplace Kyvos Single Node Installation (Kyvos SNI)

To use password-based authentication for instances when deploying the Kyvos cluster using the Wizard-based method, you need to provide certain permission to the deployment user. This section provides details of permissions required for all the cloud platforms.

If you are using a Linux user other than Kyvos, then you might need to give some permissions to this user.

Important

If you want to use an AD/LDAP user for deployment, ensure that all the permissions mentioned in this section are available for the user.

In the following commands, $user represents the Linux user deploying the cluster. Replace it according to your requirement.

Execute the following commands from the root user.

Note

  • You MUST perform the following steps on ALL the instances that you want to use for Kyvos deployment with Password authentication.

  • Creating and adding a node is not supported for a password-based cluster deployed via the wizard. To enable the create or add node functionality in Kyvos Manager, ensure that you use the appropriate AMI that supports password-based authentication for the deployed cluster, rather than a private key (PEM file) based AMI.
