Customizing axis labels

Applies to: Kyvos Enterprise  Kyvos Cloud (SaaS on AWS) Kyvos AWS Marketplace

Kyvos Azure Marketplace   Kyvos GCP Marketplace Kyvos Single Node Installation (Kyvos SNI)

You can create custom axis labels or titles for the bottom, left, and right axis of a chart and select which titles should be shown on the chart. By default, the name of the measure or dimension is used. If you remove a custom axis title, the value reverts to the default setting.

From Kyvos 2024.12 onwards, you can plot measures on the X-Axis of XY charts, provided that no dimensions are placed on the X-Axis. To enable this feature, a 'Plot Measures on X-Axis' checkbox will be added under Axis Properties. This option will only be available when there are no dimensions assigned to the X-Axis. When the 'Plot Measures on X-Axis' option is selected, the measure-level properties for all measures placed on the Y-Axis shelf will be synchronized. Therefore, any changes made to the properties of one measure will automatically apply to all other measures on the Y-Axis shelf.

To render measures on the X-Axis of XY charts, perform the following steps.

  1. From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then select a workbook.

  2. Select a semantic model and create Worksheet

  3. If needed, select Design.

  4. Add measure in Y-Axis. There must be no dimension dropped on X-Axis.

  5. Change the View Type to XY chart (Area, Bar, column, crosstab, curve, Plot, or Line)

  6. In the Properties section, select the Plot Measures on X-Axis checkbox.

  7. The measure will display in the X-Axis.

Note

When the Plot Measures on X-Axis checkbox is selected, the measure-level properties for all measures placed on the Y-Axis shelf will remain the same. Any change made to one measure-level property will be applied to all other measures on the Y-Axis shelf.

To show axis titles, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then select a workbook.

  2. If needed, select Design.

  3. Click the arrow at the top of the Properties pane to switch between Worksheet properties and properties for the type of chart you view, for example, Bar.

  4. Click the checkboxes below Show Value Axis to select which labels should be displayed.
Not all values apply to each chart type.
