Workbook shortcuts

Applies to: Kyvos Enterprise  Kyvos Cloud (SaaS on AWS) Kyvos AWS Marketplace

Kyvos Azure Marketplace   Kyvos GCP Marketplace Kyvos Single Node Installation (Kyvos SNI)

A Shortcut is a reference to a Kyvos Worksheet or Dashboard along with the collection of all the runtime or Adhoc filters (action filters, widget linked Filter, filter cards) applied to it as a part of the explorative analysis process. Shortcuts can be shared across users so that they can reproduce the same or similar analysis using a single-click shortcut link.

The shortcut is associated and confined within a workbook. Shortcuts created on a dashboard or worksheet can work within the same workbook from which the shortcut is created.

Further, the shortcut is accessible to users only if they have access to the shortcut as well as the underlying workbook on which it is created.

Note

While applying filters that are part of shortcuts on any worksheet or dashboard, the column level security (if applied) on any dimension or measure is also respected.

Creating shortcut

To create a shortcut, perform the following steps.

  1. Navigate to the worksheet/workbook/dashboard on which you want to apply filter conditions for creating the shortcut.

  2. Specify the Filter conditions.

  3. Click the shortcuts icon provided at the top, and click Create Shortcut.

  4. Specify a Name and Description (optional) for the shortcut.

  5. Click Apply. The shortcut is added to the list.

Applying shortcut filter set

When viewing any dashboard or worksheet, you can apply the filter set defined in a particular shortcut on the current/opened worksheet/dashboard.
In this case, filters coming from the shortcut have the highest priority and override any other filter on the same field. You can also view what all filters are being inherited from the Shortcut and applied on the worksheet/dashboard.

To apply a shortcut filter set, perform the following steps.

  1. Navigate to the worksheet/workbook/dashboard on which you want to apply filter conditions for creating the shortcut.

  2. Click the shortcuts icon provided at the top, and then click the Actions menu ( ⋮ ) menu to the right of the shortcut name.

  3. Click Apply Selections to the Current Sheet.

    The filter is applied.

Sharing shortcut

After you create a shortcut, it can be shared with any other Kyvos user in either read or read and write form.

See the Sharing an object section to know more about how to share shortcuts via Links or by Granting Access.

Importing and exporting shortcuts

After you create a shortcut, it can be imported and exported using the CAB file. Exporting a workbook via CAB allows you to export all shortcuts linked with that workbook.
Similarly, importing a workbook into the system imports all the shortcuts linked with that workbook.

See Exporting data to a cab file section for more details.
