Query objects are created to gather data from different sources, merge them into one dataset, and perform data transformations or calculations. They serve as the business meta-layer for end-user reporting. The query objects hide the physical database details, SQL complexities, table names, etc., from the end user. This allows users to create insightful reports, charts, and dashboards without knowing the origin or retrieval process of the data from the database.

Pre-requisites

Following are the pre-requisites to access query objects:

  1. Users designing the query objects should have Data Administrator privileges.

  2. Users should have access rights granted on valid database connections on which the query objects are designed.

Note

It is not recommended to run Kyvos Reporting in the Compatibility view.
