  1. Create a Simba Spark ODBC DSN. Once the DSN is created, open the MicroStrategy Developer and log in to the project source using administrator credentials.

  2. Connect to the Project Source and double-click the Administration. Here, click Configuration Managers > Database Instances. This displayed existing database instances (if any), as shown in the following figure.

  2. Right-click to access the context menu. Here, click New > Database Instance, as shown in the following figure.

  2. In the displayed Database Instances dialog box, enter the Database instance name.

  3. From the Database connection type drop-down list, select the Spark SQL 1.5+ option.

  2. From the Local system ODBC Data sources list, select the ODBC data source (DSN) that was created for Spark SQL.

  2. Select this newly created database instance as the project's warehouse. For this, perform the following steps.

    1. In the MicroStrategy Developer, right-click the Project name to access the context menu. Select the Project Configuration option, as shown in the following figure.

    1. To start the Intelligence Server service automatically (when it fails unexpectedly) using the Restarter, select the Service Manager option from the MicroStrategy Tools. The MicroStrategy Server Manager dialog box is displayed, as shown in the following figure.
