Kyvos supports the MicroStrategy product suite using the Spark SQL ODBC Driver interface. Using MicroStrategy, you can create a data source and publish the Kyvos semantic model for analysis.

MicroStrategy automatically installs all the requisite drivers.

To create a MicroStrategy Database Instance, perform the following steps.

You can use the same Database Instance for both MicroStrategy Developer and Web.

  1. Create a Simba Spark ODBC DSN. Once the DSN is created, open the MicroStrategy Developer and log in to the project source using administrator credentials.

  2. Connect to the Project Source and double-click the Administration. Here, click Configuration Managers > Database Instances. This displayed existing database instances (if any), as shown in the following figure.

  3. Right-click to access the context menu. Here, click New > Database Instance, as shown in the following figure.

  4. In the displayed Database Instances dialog box, enter the Database instance name.
  5. From the Database connection type drop-down list, select the Spark SQL 1.5+ option.

  6. Click the New button. This displays the Database Connections dialog box with the newly created DSN.

  7. Enter the Database connection name in the corresponding field.
  8. From the Local system ODBC Data sources list, select the ODBC data source (DSN) that was created for Spark SQL.
  9. Click the New. The Database Logins dialog box is displayed.

  10. Enter your credentials and click OK. This creates the database instance for the project warehouse.
  11. Select this newly created database instance as the project's warehouse. For this, perform the following steps.
    1. In the MicroStrategy Developer, right-click the Project name to access the context menu. Select the Project Configuration option, as shown in the following figure.

    2. In the displayed Project Configuration dialog box, click Database Instance > SQL Data warehouses. From the Warehouse Database Instance list, select the Database Instance created in the above steps, and click OK.

  12. Restart MicroStrategy Intelligence Server. For this, perform the following steps.
    1. To start the Intelligence Server service automatically (when it fails unexpectedly) using the Restarter, select the Service Manager option from the MicroStrategy Tools. The MicroStrategy Server Manager dialog box is displayed, as shown in the following figure.

    2. In the Machine drop-down list, select the computer on which the MicroStrategy Intelligence Server service is installed, and click the Restart button.
