Here is the list of features and updates included in the Kyvos 2025.1 release.
Features and Enhancements for 2025.1
Kyvos 2025.1 release brings the following new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
Kyvos Modern Architecture (No-Spark Ingestion) Enhancements
This release comes with the following no-Spark enhancements:
Support for the 'is between' non-equi join in semantic model processing for Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD-2).
Support for relating a dimension dataset to fact datasets with different primary key columns, i.e., a multilevel dimension/dataset.
Support for tracking Kubernetes cluster usage from the Kyvos Usage Report Dashboard.
Support for processing semantic models with one or more many-to-many dimensions.
Support for ROLAP queries through MDX Interface on Postgres data source.
Support for ROLAP queries through SQL interface via metadata processing on Postgres data source.
Filtering enhancement on calculated members.
Conversational Analytics Using Gen AI-Powered Kyvos Dialogues Enhancements
This release comes with the following Conversational Analytics enhancements:
Support for user-based licensing for Conversational Analytics
Support for highlighting data points in colors via commands
Support for providing a custom embedding provider for GenAI connection.
Support for AI settings tailored to a specific semantic model. These settings enhance context relevance for the semantic model, improving outcomes for various business use cases, such as anomaly detection and natural language summaries.
New Language Bundle File Upload via Kyvos Manager
Kyvos now supports uploading a new language bundle file for both Kyvos Manager and Kyvos, enabling users to interact with the platform in their preferred language.
Cloud Support Enhancements
This release comes with the following cloud enhancements (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
AWS Enhancements
Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023) Operating System: Kyvos now supports the Amazon Linux 2023 operating system for AWS SaaS.
Custom-Based Deployments with Kubernetes: Kyvos now supports custom image-based deployments with Kubernetes (either creating a new Kubernetes cluster or using an existing one) for AWS wizard and automated deployment.
Azure Enhancements
Kyvos now supports Es V4/V5 VMs for the BI server.
Kyvos Viz. Enhancements
This release comes with the following Kyvos Visualization enhancements:
Waterfall Chart: Kyvos now supports the waterfall chart, a new visualization. This chart type visually represents how an initial value changes through a series of intermediate positive or negative values.
Overlapping Columns for Bar and Column Charts: Users can now overlap columns in bar and column charts using the ‘Overlap’ option for multiple series. When enabled, the chart will not be stacked, and the columns will not be clustered but instead overlap.
Note: If the ‘Overlap’ option is selected and the user switches to a chart type other than Bar or Column, the option will automatically revert to ‘Automatic.’
Tooltip Shelf for Measures: Kyvos now supports displaying measure values exclusively in tooltips without plotting them on the visualization. Users can use the "Tooltip Shelf." By adding measures to this shelf, any measure placed there will appear in the tooltip for all visualizations.
Usability Enhancements
This release comes with the following Kyvos usability enhancements:
Built-in Process Details Semantic Model Enhancement: Kyvos now supports displaying the status of skipped processes in the built-in Process details semantic model.
Sorting Kyvos PBIT Fields Using Key Fields: Kyvos now supports field sorting based on the key field if both key and display fields are present and querying through the Power BI Semantic Model (PBIT) generated through Kyvos.
NOTE: Users must select the key field in the SQL metadata to avail of this functionality.
Duplicate Measures in the Same Semantic Model Group: Users can now duplicate measures within the same group in the semantic model, supporting both base and calculated measures.
Optimized Semantic Model Saving with Compression: Kyvos has enhanced the saving of semantic models (both logical and physical views) by compressing the payload data, improving performance when the request payload size is large.
API Enhancements
This release comes with the following API enhancements:
payloadCompressionThreshold: Defines the size (in KB) that determines whether payload data for saving semantic models from the browser to the web server will be compressed.
