You can import the following types of data from a cab file created by Kyvos:

  • Users

  • Groups

  • Roles

  • Datasets

  • Relationships

  • Semantic models

  • Workbooks

  • Templates

  • Source entities

  • Dependent entities

Included by default:

  • Schedule

  • Advanced properties

  • Security settings

You can also compare data between the current cluster and a cab file before importing a file. You can compare all or compare selected items before doing an import. See Comparing clusters for details.

To import data from a file, perform the following steps. 

  1. From the Toolbox, click Utilities > Import Objects.
    The Import Objects window opens in a new tab.

  2. Click Choose File.

  3. Navigate to the location of the data you want to import, select the file, and click Open.

  4. Select the information you want to import and click Import Selected or click Import All.

When you import a cab file where the entities exist in different folders in the destination repository, you are prompted to indicate where the items should go. By default, the entities will be placed into the existing folders in the destination repository.

Summary

After a successful import, a Summary link displays. Click it to view a list of all the items that have been imported.
