Instead of removing a level, you can partially materialize it in the hierarchy. You can also reduce or increase the level of materialization. After you change the materialization of a level, you need to do an incremental process.

Note

  • Kyvos supports naming semantic model entities in the   ENTITY_format, such as DIMENSION_ , DIM_ , and   MEASURE_ , and so on.

  • You can't delete a level because it may break the hierarchy.

To change the materialization of a level, perform the following:

  1. Open a semantic model and select Refine

  2. Click the Aggregation Strategy tab.

  3. Confirm that the Mode is set to Expert (User Driven).

  4. Set a value for the Precompute level threshold, which uses the kyvos.process.precompute.hierarchy.levels property.

  5. To select the level on which you want to change partial materialization, click the Actions menu (...) next to  Selective hierarchy materialization.

  6. You can view the current value settings and click to the right of the names of the values to change the settings.

  7. Click Apply.

  8. Click Save

  9. Process the semantic model. See Scheduling semantic model processes
