A role grants permission to access a particular set of functionality. Group users into roles and use the roles to manage access to data and functionality. For example, you may want to create an HR role that controls access to personal-related data.

Security considerations

In addition to assigning roles to do certain tasks, the user accounts need to have access to the underlying data. If you assign a user to a role but their user account doesn’t have access to the underlying data, they will not see certain options or be able to do certain tasks. This feature helps keep your confidential data secure.

Additionally, users will see an error message that indicates that they do not have access to underlying data.

Permissions

The Kyvos administrator group has access to all Kyvos functionality. As the administrator, you can decide what data a group of designers that sets up data relationships and cubes should have access to. You can give a single group access to a lot of data, or you may have several groups at that level that have access only to certain types of data. For example, perhaps only a few people have access to employee records while more people have access to product data, sales data, etc.
