The Vendor notifications feature allows you to configure notifications to be sent to the Kyvos users for upcoming events or activities. This allows you to notify customers about any event that Kyvos as a vendor, wants to broadcast to its users via the web portal or email. The notification could be for events such as service down for maintenance purposes, or announcing the next Kyvos major version release date, or change in any policies, and so on.

For example, in the case of planned maintenance activity, you can schedule the notifications to be displayed <n> days before the activity. If the users have subscribed to Vendor Notifications in My Subscriptions, they will receive the configured notification.

To create a new notification, perform the following steps.

  1. On the navigation pane, click Utilities > Vendor Notifications.

  2. Click the Create button.

  3. From the configuration area on the right, select the Category for notification from:

    1. Maintenance (Upgrade/Downtime/Patch): Select this option to notify users of upcoming maintenance activity that may require any downtime.

    2. Security Alert: Select this option to inform the users of any security incident that may have been observed in the environment.

    3. Usability Tips: Select this option to provide usability tips to the users.

    4. News (Upcoming Release/Webinar/Marketing Event): Select this option to inform the users of any upcoming release, marketing event, webinar, and so on.

  4. From the Event On field, select the date and time for the event. The timezone configured in your environment is displayed.

  5. Click the Select Template link to select the message template to be used for sending notifications.
To add more templates, use the vendorNotificationConfig.json file available at the /kyvosmanagerdata/server/repo/metadata.Kyvos location.

  6. If needed, edit the Title of the notification message.

  7. Update the description in the Message area to provide details that you want to send to the users.

  8. Once done, click the Save button. The notification is added to the list displayed don the left.
