Important Announcement

With the Kyvos 2023.2 release, we have updated naming conventions for Kyvos entities to strengthen our standardization and make it easier for everyone to navigate and use the platform. With this release onwards, you will see the entities as follows:

  • Registered files renamed to Datasets

  • Cube renamed to Semantic Model

  • Build renamed to Process

Configuring data consists of setting up data connections, registering files from Hadoop or other sources, and creating the source dataset. PostgreSQL or Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) is used as the default repository for storing metadata.

To configure data used by Kyvos, you should have administrator access. The Kyvos Administrator can change the default repository database secrets and non-repository secrets to read the secrets from a corresponding service [Azure Key Vault or AWS Secrets Manager] instead of from a file. This is set up during deployment or your Kyvos administrator can set it up post-deployment using the Kyvos Manager app. When you create new non-repository connections like Snowflake connections, all the secrets will save on the corresponding cloud service [including Azure Key Vaults and AWS Secrets Manager].
