Using Kyvos Connector

To create a dossier using Kyvos Connector through MicroStrategy web, perform the following steps.

  1. On the MicroStrategy web, go to the project on which you would like to create the dossier.

  2. Click Create Dossier.

  3. Click New Data.

  4. On the Connect to Your Data dialog box, choose the OLAP option.

  5. On the Import From Cubes dialog box, click the New Data Source icon ⊕.

  6. In the displayed Data Source dialog box, select the Database as Kyvos, and enter details as shown.

  7. Select the Edit Connection String checkbox, and remove USE_MTOM (highlighted in the following image).

  8. Click Save. You are redirected to the Import From Cubes dialog box.

  9. Choose the newly created connection from the list of MDX CONNECTIONS, and select the cube that you want to browse.

Note

When working with the Kyvos connector, the Import hierarchy as hierarchical attribute check box is selected by default to enable you to visualize your data in a hierarchy. You cannot uncheck this option.

Click Finish. You will be redirected to create Visualizations.

Using SSAS Connector

To create a dossier and MDX connection on the MicroStrategy web, perform the following steps.

  1. On the MicroStrategy web, go to the project on which you would like to create the dossier.

  2. Click Create Dossier.

  3. Click New Data.

  4. On the Connect to Your Data dialog box, choose the OLAP option.

  5. On the Import From Cubes dialog box, click the New Data Source icon ⊕.

  6. In the displayed Data Source dialog box, select the Database as Microsoft Analysis Services, and enter details as shown.

  7. Select the Edit Connection String checkbox, and remove USE_MTOM (highlighted in the following image).

  8. Click Save. You are redirected to the Import From Cubes dialog box.

  9. Choose the newly created connection from the list of MDX CONNECTIONS, and select the cube that you want to browse.

To visualize your data in a hierarchy, select the Import hierarchy as hierarchical attribute checkbox

Click Finish. You will be redirected to create Visualizations.
