Use the Business Users Guide to create workbooks and worksheets to organize your data. 

You may have received access to a semantic model or data source so that you can create your workbook, or someone else in your organization may have created a workbook for you. Depending on your level of access, you may not be able to do some or all of the tasks described here. 

Instructions on how to do common tasks, such as create, copy, and so on, are covered in Common actions.

Workbooks

A workbook is a file that contains one or more worksheets to help you organize data. 

You can do the following tasks with workbooks:

  • Create

  • Copy

  • Rename

  • Move

  • Save

  • Delete

  • Share

  • Add Notes

  • Add Notifications

  • Open in a new window

  • Define linking actions to worksheets, dashboard cards, or external URLs

  • Use themes to change the underlying appearance of worksheets and dashboards

Worksheets

Worksheets allow you to create interactive charts and dashboards where you can easily drill down and drill through to discover trends and identify patterns.

Worksheets are listed in alphabetical order. If you have folders, they display at the top of the list.

You can do the following tasks with worksheets: 

  • Create

  • Copy

  • Rename

  • Move

  • Reorder

  • Save

  • Delete

  • Share

  • Add Notes

  • Add Notifications

  • Show the related entities

  • Open underlying data in a new tab

  • Export worksheets

  • Apply filters

  • Add themes to change the underlying appearance

  • Add actions such as links to other worksheets, or to an external URL

  • Share a URL link to a worksheet or dashboard with other Kyvos users
