Important

Before setting user impersonation, the MicroStrategy (MSTR) server must be configured with LDAP. For more information, see MicroStrategy Documentation.

Enabling LDAP authentication for your project source

  1. In the Folder List, right-click the project source and select Modify Project Source. The Project Source Manager opens. 

  2. On the Advanced tab, select Use LDAP Authentication

  3. Click Ok to accept your changes and close the Project Source Manager. 

Enabling pass-through credentials for your database instances

  1. Right-click on your project > choose project configuration, and then the Project Configuration dialog will open.

  2. Click on Database instances > Authentication> Warehouse.

  3. Click the Use warehouse pass-through credentials checkbox to enable pass-through credentials.

  4. To select instances for user impersonation, do one of the following:

    1. Choose For all database instances if you want to apply for all instances

    2. Choose For selected database instances to apply for selected instances.

  5. Choose the required Metadata authentication type from the list.

    1. If you select For selected database instances (as mentioned in step 4-b) then select instances, and then click Ok.

Enabling LDAP authentication for MicroStrategy Web

  1. Go to the Web Administrator Page. On the left side of the page, under Intelligence Server, select Default Properties.  

  2. In the Login area, for LDAP Authentication, select the Enabled checkbox.
