About notifications

Note

You must have Email Account configured in your environment to receive email notifications.
See the Mail Account section for more details. 

Kyvos sends notifications for events such as when objects have been modified. For example:

  • There are modifications to a semantic model

  • When a worksheet or dashboard is modified

Ensure the following: 

  • You can subscribe yourself and depending on your permissions, you can subscribe other users to these notifications using the Subscribe Users tab. 

  • You can also subscribe to a specific item or all items, for example, a specific cube or all cubes.

Notifications are available about the following events and entities using the Rules tab.

BI Server

  • BI Server memory reaches over 90%

  • 15 days before the license expires

  • Any entity modifies

    NOTE: This subscription is applicable for all the entities, their advanced properties, data security rules, and cache population rules.

  • BI Server disk space usage reaches over 90%

  • 15 days before the personal access token expires

  • Any of the cluster environment validation fails
    NOTE: Validations include if Build cluster configuration not updated on BI servers, YARN container max memory allocation is insufficient.

  • For Cloud deployments:

    • The cluster shuts down as per schedule

    • The cluster comes up as per schedule or Query Engine scaling occurs

    • Fetching usage details fails

Process Actions

  • Semantic model process fails

  • Semantic model process is successful

  • Semantic model process starts

NOTE: These subscriptions are applicable for all cubes. Right-click on the cube name to subscribe for that particular semantic model.

  • Semantic model process elapsed time varies by 10%

    • The transformation process is successful

    • Transformation process starts

    • Transformation process fails

    NOTE: These subscriptions are applicable for all transformations. Right-click on the dataset name to subscribe for that particular transformation.

Query Engine

  • Query Engine memory reaches over 90%

  • Query Engine(s) went down in the preceding 10 minutes interval

  • Query Engine disk space usage reaches over 90%

Query Performance

  • Query fails after x seconds

  • Query completes successfully after x seconds

Others

  • Credits balance is less than 15% of the purchased credits

  • The cluster starts as scheduled

  • The cluster is getting ready to shut down (scheduled or manual). 15-minute warning.

  • For AWS Deployments - When Elastic MapReduce (EMR) starts before any builds can occur

  • The build cluster configuration is not synced on BI server(s)

  • Yarn container max memory is insufficient for job execution

Notification emails

When someone subscribes you to a notification, you will receive an email informing you who subscribed you to the notification and which type of notifications you are signed up for.

You can use the bell icon at the top of the page to manage your subscriptions. 

If your account doesn't have permission to modify subscription settings, you may need to ask the person who subscribed to you to unsubscribe you.
