Transformation

In statistics, data transformation means applying a mathematical function to each point in a dataset; each data point is then replaced with the transformed value. Data transformation make it easier to visualize relationships within the data or to improve the ability to interpret data. For example, use a transformation to adjust car mileage to account for measurements that are kilometers per liter or miles per gallon.
