In case of any failures in the Cloud-init service on any of the Kyvos Instances, you can view the Cloud-init logs directly from the GCP Cloud logging UI.
To view the Cloud-init logs on Cloud logging explorer from the GCP portal, perform the following steps:
Go to Compute Engine > VM Instances.
Click the instance for which you want to view logs.
Click Cloud logging under the Logs section page.
System logs named syslog will be available in Cloud Logging Explorer. This file has all the global system messages located inside, including the messages that are logged during system startup. This file also includes mail, cron, daemon, kern, auth, and more.
GCP scripts metadata logging should be available using the above steps named as GCEMetadataScripts in Cloud Logging Explorer. This file contains the logging of the running of all metadata scripts (including Kyvos startup/bootstrap script) on Google Compute Engine instances.
