Report (Menu) Options

Let us discuss the various operations on the main menu of the Ad hoc Report Designer.

The various actions that can be performed at the report level are given in the table underneath:

Action Buttons:

Button	Comments
Run	This helps to run a report with the complete data set.
Preview	The report is run, and sample data set is loaded picking first 10 fields (columns) and 200 records (rows) in case of larger datasets for preview.
Open	Opens previously saved ad hoc report for editing. An ‘Open Report Layout’ dialog will prompt for selecting the folder and report
Save	Saves the settings of this report – data source, fields, groupings etc. A ‘Save Layout’ dialog will prompt for report name and folder location (You can also see this option at the bottom-right of the report)
Save As	Saves the settings of this report with a different name. A ‘Save Layout’ dialog will prompt for report name and folder location
