Improving query performance using caches

Applies to: Kyvos Enterprise  Kyvos Cloud (SaaS on AWS) Kyvos AWS Marketplace

Kyvos Azure Marketplace   Kyvos GCP Marketplace Kyvos Single Node Installation (Kyvos SNI)

You can automate the process of cache population of semantic models to reduce the query response time. Auto-population includes a cache population of all types of queries, including SQL, MDX, and Worksheets.

Enable or disable cache auto-population for a semantic model (using the Refine tab and selecting Auto Cache Strategy). You can launch auto-population or define your configuration to get queries from a repository.

From the Monitor screen, you can check the progress of auto-population for any semantic model or cancel the operation if needed.

How caching in Kyvos works

The cache for a semantic model is gradually populated when a semantic model is browsed. Additionally, there are various reasons why an entry for a semantic model is removed from the cache. These two items can result in increased query response time. By automating the populating of caches, you improve query performance.
