Release Notes - What's new in Kyvos 2025.2

Here is the list of features and updates included in the Kyvos 2025.2 release.

Features and Enhancements for 2025.2

Kyvos 2025.2 release brings the following new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Kyvos Modern Architecture (No-Spark Ingestion) Enhancements

This release includes the following no-Spark enhancements:

  • In SQL querying, Kyvos' calculated expressions used with a dimension filter will now be processed through the distributed Query Engine, enhancing performance.

  • Optimized query performance in advanced filtering

  • The enhanced semantic model process validates primary key constraints on dimension data values. If the primary key column contains duplicate values, the semantic model process will fail.

Conversational Analytics Using Gen AI-Powered Kyvos Dialogues Enhancements

This release comes with the following Conversational Analytics enhancements:

Internationalization and localization Enhancements

This release includes the following internationalization and localization enhancements for the Kyvos Web Portal and Kyvos Manager:

Kyvos Web Portal

  • Support for the user’s preferred language in the Rich Text Editor

  • Support for the user's preferred time zone. The selected time zone is displayed in Web Portal.

  • Newly processed semantic model job summary in the user’s preferred locale

Kyvos Manager

Kyvos BI Server

  • Dynamically generated semantic model job summary at preferred locale

  • Support for translated email templates

Cuboids Reading from Distributed File System (DFS)

Kyvos now supports reading cuboids from DFS (on-premises cluster) with Kyvos Analytical Store.

Cloud Support Enhancements

This release comes with the following cloud enhancements (AWS, Azure, and GCP).

  • Unified Prerequisites Deployment Script for All Cloud Environments: A single script streamlines wizard-based deployments by automatically installing all necessary prerequisites. It is compatible with all nodes (BI Server, Query Engine, Kyvos Manager, Web Portal) and must be executed separately on each node. This ensures a seamless and consistent setup, minimizing manual effort and reducing the risk of configuration errors.

Azure Enhancements

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 - Gen 2 for Wizard-based deployments: Kyvos now supports RHEL 9.4- Gen 2 for wizard-based deployments.

  • Dedicated Compute Cluster for Automated Deployments: Kyvos now supports processing data on a dedicated compute cluster. Additionally, users can switch from Kubernetes or a shared query engine to a dedicated compute cluster from Kyvos Manager.
NOTE: Scaling a node and switching from a dedicated compute cluster to Kubernetes or a Shared Query Engine is not supported.

GCP Enhancements

  • CloudSQL External Repository Support for Automated and Wizard-Based Deployments: Kyvos now supports CloudSQL as an external repository for both automated and wizard-based deployments.

    NOTE:

    • For automated deployments, only a new external repository is supported.

    • For wizard-based deployments, both new and existing external repositories can be used.

Kyvos Viz. Enhancements

This release comes with the following Kyvos Visualization enhancements:

  • Tooltip Support on Tables: Kyvos now supports displaying measure values exclusively in tooltips without plotting them on table view type. Users can use the Tooltip Shelf. By adding measures to this shelf, any measure placed there will appear in the tooltip for all visualizations.

  • Scrollbar Support in Tooltip: Users can now easily scroll through tooltip content instead of being restricted by fixed-size displays. This enhancement allows for viewing large tooltip content without truncation, providing a smoother and more accessible user experience.

Usability Enhancements

This release comes with the following Kyvos usability enhancements:

  • Kyvos has added support for copying multiple measures into a different measure group while ensuring smooth performance, even with a large number of measures.

  • The enhancements to adding relationships now allow users to easily create joins using both the 'is equal to' and 'is between' operators. Additionally, users can edit existing joins and view their details by hovering over them.

Querying Enhancements

  • Users can now add calculated measures to the semantic model, ensuring optimal query performance without any impact.

  • Optimized MDX queries now support dimensions on both axes, enhancing query performance and efficiency.

  • Enhanced the performance of queries using the ‘RESPONSESUBSET’ function, leading to faster query execution and improved efficiency.

  • Support of Cross Join in SQL queries

Behavior Changes

The API_MESSAGE_BUNDLE_PATH property now requires a folder path rather than a full file path. If a value is provided, it must point to a directory rather than specifying the entire path with filename.

Note

This document covers generic release notes for all Kyvos editions. Depending upon your deployment type, some of these may not be relevant to your environment.
