Unbalanced hierarchy

Unbalanced hierarchies include levels that have a consistent parent-child relationship but have logically inconsistent levels. The hierarchy branches can also have inconsistent depths. Unbalanced hierarchies have at least one branch that does not descend to the lowest level.

An organizational chart is often an example of an unbalanced hierarchy. See Configuring ragged and unbalanced hierarchies.
