Customizing the Workbooks workspace

You can view only your chart, crosstab, or table or choose to hide the controls that you use to configure it. You can also resize the width of the columns in the workspace and the depth of items in the columns. To learn more about the workspace, see Configuring the Kyvos workspace.

If themes are enabled in your Kyvos applications, you can customize the appearance of workbooks and dashboards.

To hide or reveal the configuration controls in the worksheet pane, perform the following steps: 

  1. From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then choose a workbook and a worksheet.

  2. In the Design view, click Options > Workspace Settings.

The Workspace Settings dialog box is displayed.

In the View mode, to hide or show the configuration controls: 

  1. To hide the configuration controls, clear the checkbox against the Panels.

  2. To show the configuration controls, select the checkbox against the Panels. 

To customize the worksheet view, perform the following steps: 

  1. Resize items vertically by dragging them from the bottom. For example, drag the bottom of the Dimension box to make the list larger.

  2. Resize any column horizontally by dragging it by the side. There is a minimum width that each column can be.
    The chart area is, by default, the largest column.

  3. Drag an item from one of the side panels out into the workspace to make it a floating window. 

  4. Click Workspace Settings to configure the settings for the Design and View workspaces.

  5. To restore the default settings, use Workspace Settings and select Restore Default Layout, then click Apply. 

You can maximize the size of the current view, which may be of a chart or crosstab.

To maximize the view, perform the following: 

  1. From the Toolbox, choose Workbooks, then choose a workbook and worksheet.

  2. Click View. 
    By default, the filter pane is still displayed, but you can hide it.

  3. To hide the Filter pane, at the top of the pane, click the Actions menu (  ⋮  ) and choose Hide.

  4. To display it again, click Options and select Workspace Settings. 

  5. Click the Filter checkbox in the View column and click Apply. Or click Restore Default Layout.

To specify which properties you are viewing, perform the following steps: 

  1. From the Toolbox, select Workbooks, then choose a workbook and a worksheet.

  2. Click Design at the top of the workspace, if needed, to see the configuration controls.

  3. If Properties is enabled for the design view, you will see the pane, and depending on what you are viewing, you may be able to choose which type of properties to view. For example, if you are viewing a crosstab, you will see choices for a worksheet or crosstab properties. 

  4. To specify that properties are included in the design view, see Configuring the Kyvos workspace.

Floating windows

You can drag an item from one of the side panels to make it a floating window or drag it back over a panel to dock it again.

To close a floating dialog box, click the X in the upper left corner of the dialog box. 

Workbook tabs location

If your installation of Kyvos is configured to support it, you can specify the location of the workbook tabs. By default, they display at the top of the workbook, but you can choose to display them at the bottom.

To specify the location of workbook tabs, perform the following steps: 

  1. Click the person icon in the upper left corner of the window.

  2. Choose Preferences.

  3. For Workbook Tab Position, select Top or Bottom.
