Working with Studio Reports Templates
The reports designed for any organization should have uniform appearance throughout. For example, all the reports should have a:
Company logo or a watermark
Specific formatting for text in column titles and report rows (detail section)
Specific method of representing page numbers
Contact address of the company at the bottom and so on
Report templates are designed to achieve uniformity in reports and to reduce design time.
A report template can be applied to a report only through SQL Report Wizard. In case the wizard is re-loaded and new fields are added, you must re-apply the modified report template in order to inherit the effect of the template.
In case the wizard is re-loaded and a new template is applied, static controls placed on the report based on previously applied template will continue to remain. New effects are available based on the new template. The dynamic controls will have effects based on new controls.
In order to have consistent formatting across many reports, you, as a designer, need to actually set the reporting on each control placed on the reports. Intellicus Report Templates feature helps you to save the designing time and reduces the number of errors. You can initially create a report template and apply it to any studio reports that you design. When you design a report layout with the SQL Report Wizard, you can choose the report templates from the Apply Template drop-down on the Style tab.

The options that appear in the Apply Template drop-down are the report templates that are installed while installing Intellicus Studio. You can apply any of these report templates to the reports.
You can also design your own report templates, which appear in the Apply Template drop-down once designed. The report templates are saved with an extension ’.irt’ and can be opened with Intellicus Studio for modification.
