Social Media

This page describes the provider-specific properties for connecting to social media and the details you need to input to create connections to the specific databases. Some properties are common to these data sources; you can find that information in the common properties section.

X (previously Twitter)

Kyvos Reporting supports X as a data source for fetching and analyzing your X account’s data. Follow the steps below to get the API Key, API Secret, Access Token, and Access Token Secret required to create a connection in Kyvos Reporting.

  1. Go to (http://developer.x.com/) and log in with your X account’s credentials.

  2. To get the API key and API secret, create a new application. This is discussed in a separate section underneath.

  3. Log in to X to get the Access Token and Access Token Secret. Alternatively, you can provide tokens in Kyvos Reporting if you already have them.

  4. Download the keys and tokens required to create a connection in Kyvos Reporting, as described in the table below.

  1. Go to the X Developers’ site (http://developer.x.com/). To create an account, click the “Sign in” link at the top right.

  2. Click Developer Portal. Log in with the account you want to associate with your application.

    1. Once you’re logged in, click “Dashboard”.

    2. Go to “Projects & Apps” to create a new application. This is where all your X applications appear.

    3. Click the “Add App” button to add or create an application.

    4. Once you have added or created an app, you can view your keys, which you can save for future use. You can use these keys in Kyvos Reporting to generate your access tokens from X Application (under the Keys and Tokens tab).

    5. Under “Settings,” edit App Details like App name, icon, or description if you wish to.

    6. Edit App Permissions as per your need.

    7. Enable 3rd party authentication under Authentication Settings if you wish to log in to X from the Kyvos Reporting application. You need to provide the Website URL. If you allow users to log into your application to authenticate themselves, enter the Callback URL (https://{domainname}/x/callback).
